Ruddy eyes England call
Norwich keeper would relish international role
Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy admits he would relish the chance of playing for England.
The 25-year-old former Everton player has been in superb form this season and has helped Norwich into mid-table, defying the critics who had them labelled as pre-season relegation favourites.
Ruddy was in top form at the weekend as he recorded his first Premier League clean-sheet in their 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Now with Ben Foster and Paul Robinson calling a premature time on their international careers, the door is seemingly open for places in England's Euro 2012 squad as back-up to number one Joe Hart.
"It is nice to be linked with England, but I know that only happens if I am playing well with Norwich. That is the main thing," he said.
"It would obviously be a great honour for me and my family to get in the squad.
"I have got my wedding in June, so we will see what happens. I guess I would have to ask the missus. "I am sure I could get the day off and then maybe take her on holiday to Poland and Ukraine - kill two birds with one stone - but I am focused on Norwich." - http://www1.skysports.com/
