The 42-year-old believes that his side can make it through the so called 'group of death' and says he has not yet decided his final squad for Poland and Ukraine.
Portugal head coach Paulo Bento has set his sights on reaching the quarter-finals at the Euro 2012 finals this summer.
The Seleccao managed to quality for the tournament through the play-offs after finishing second to Denmark in the group stage.
Portugal have been drawn in the Euro 2012's 'group of death', together with Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, but Bento trusts his side's chances to reach the knockout stages.
"We want to go and compete on equal terms with the three teams we have to face and reach the quarter-finals, regardless of our group," Bento told reporters.
"We have been drawn in a very strong group but that cannot inhibit us from playing with enough ambition and motivation to reach our goal, which is reaching the quarter-finals."
The Euro 2004 runners-up, who defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-offs, will take on Poland on 29 February in a friendly match in what will be the inauguration of the National Stadium in Warsaw.
"We have a list of players which is not comprised of just 23 players, but more, and we have to do our work, for the match against Poland and for what will come after that game, until May 13, which is the day before the final list is released," Bento added. - http://www.goal.com/
