Germany coach Joachim Low at odds with Bayern Munich over Netherlands friendly

The Bavarian club are set to take on the Dutch national side in an exhibition match that may interfere with the 51-year-old's preparations for Euro 2012

An injury sustained by Arjen Robben in the course of the 2010 World Cup sparked an argument between Jupp Heynckes' men and the Dutch FA (KNVB), which was eventually settled by agreeing a friendly between the two sides to take place at the Allianz Arena shortly before Euro 2012.However, Joachim Low's plans for the tournament clash with both the DFB Pokal final on May 12 and the Champions League final on May 19, and the exhibition match would put a further dent in his preparations. The 51-year-old has already voiced his concerns over the friendly to the German FA (DFB), who confirmed that they are in negotiations with the club."I have already had preliminary talks with [Bayern CEO] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and made him aware of the problems that may arise for the national team in the preparation for this friendly match," future DFB boss Wolfgang Niersbach told Bild."We will soon discuss the issue in peace, to find a solution which both Bayern and the DFB can live with," he concluded. With at least eight Bayern Munich players looking likely to be called up to Low's squad, this would not be the only time they will face Netherlands; the two nations have been drawn together in Group B of the European Championships.
