The draw result enabled the Magpies
to stay on top of the group table. Bruges look bound to win w1th ease as Ivan
Trickovski and Jesper Jorgensen riddled the visitors’ net with goals less than
20 minutes into the game.
Newcastle did not hold off without a
fight, as Vurnon Anita and Shola Ameobi sealed the draw as they scored a goal
each within a quick two minutes before half time. Keeper Tim Krul bravely kept
the Belgian outfit at bay as he saved Mohamed Tchite’s header.
